Sunburn is not only unpleasant but can also cause long-term skin damage and premature aging. The right UV protection is therefore imperative for every sunbath. Which UV protection is good for my skin type? Proper UV protection is determined primarily by the sun protection factor (SPF), which depends on the skin’s natural sunscreen. The skin has, depending on skin type, a more or less pronounced natural UV protection. To protect the skin even after exceeding that of the skin’s own protection against the negative effects of the sun’s UV rays, it is essential to extend the protection by use of a UV protection lotion. Sun protection factor (SPF) sun cream indicates by what factor the skin’s sun protection period is extended. If the protection period of the skin without a UV protection is 10 minutes, with an SPF 15 UV protection the skin is protected for up to 150 minutes before the UV rays can cause sunburn.
